SONGS by the soloist are normally:

Prior to the seating of the mother of the bride;
during the presentation of the roses to parents; and
during the lighting of the Unity Candle.

PRESENTATION OF ROSES and LIGHTING OF THE UNITY CANDLE are optional. Of the hundreds of weddings we have participated in, these two items have added the most in the way of a personal touch.

READINGS occur normally between the giving of the bride and the presentation of the roses.

MEMORIZATION, though not forbidden, is discouraged due to the pressure of the event. It is better simply to be in a frame of mind where you can participate and enjoy, rather than having to “perform”.
